NY Covid Story
NY Covid Story
New York City was hit first and hardest when the pandemic broke out in 2020, with 5 times more infections and deaths than the rest of the country.
I encounter resistance trying to communicate with other New Yorkers about our shared experience. Perhaps a barrier exists because the trauma was so great.
With this work, I’m intentionally inserting emotional distance by using vintage scrapbook imagery and ephemera as a visual language to express grief experienced in New York City, and ultimately the world.
